Vehicle for Ministry

—walking alongside the local church in Sylhet, Bangladesh—

SUMMARY

In the hilly regions of Sylhet, Bangladesh, the Church of God faithfully serves remote villages where transportation is limited, and public transit is often unavailable. Ministry leaders regularly travel long distances across poor roads to encourage believers, support local congregations, and oversee ministry initiatives. Today, these essential visits depend on renting vehicles—a costly and unsustainable practice. This project will thus provide a reliable ministry vehicle, strengthening the church’s ability to serve, disciple, and empower communities across Sylhet and beyond.

COST

The total cost for the project is $16,500.

Project # 42.40312

BACKGROUND

The Church of God in Sylhet, Bangladesh has long been committed to engaging and uplifting believers who live in hard to reach places. Pastors and ministry leaders often travel on steep, uneven, and weather affected roads to visit congregations, lead services, support community outreach, and monitor ongoing ministry projects.

Because the mission does not own a vehicle, every visit requires renting transportation—an approach that is increasingly expensive and limits ministry flexibility. These transportation barriers reduce how often leaders can connect with their communities and place long-term strain on already limited resources. Local leaders have thus identified a ministry vehicle as an urgent need for sustaining and strengthening their ministry efforts.

Vision

This project is rooted in the desire to expand the reach of the Church of God in Sylhet, Bangladesh and to ensure that no congregation—regardless of location—is left isolated. By securing a reliable vehicle, leaders will be able to:
• Visit remote congregations more frequently.
• Provide pastoral care with greater consistency.
• Support emerging ministry points and new church plants.
• Respond quickly to urgent needs in the community.
• Redirect funds currently spent on rentals into ministry impact.
Ultimately, the vision is to empower local leaders to minister with greater presence, flexibility, and long-term sustainability.

STRATEGY

The Vehicle for Ministry project focuses on a single, strategic investment: the acquisition of a durable, reliable vehicle suitable for rugged terrain.

Once funded, Project Manager Ms. Lovely Suchiang, together with other local leadership, will oversee the purchase and ensure the vehicle is maintained and used for ministry purposes throughout the region. This one-time investment will immediately reduce operating costs and open new opportunities for ministry expansion.

“We believe that the acquisition of a vehicle is a critical step in enhancing the effectiveness and reach of our mission work. Your generous support would not only help us overcome the logistical challenges we currently face but also enable us to achieve our strategic goals more effectively.”

Project Manager
