Their Ministry Focus
Rob and Kari Cotten are working alongside fellow missionaries Tim and Kim Wardell as together they serve in Allen, South Dakota, among the Lakota people. They are helping to mentor the growing congregation of Pass Creek Church into who it means to be a fully functioning, self-sustaining church. Worship, fellowship, Bible study, Sunday school, and youth programs are some of the areas in which they provide leadership and modeling to those who will someday step into roles themselves.
They are also helping to build a bridge between people who are defined by hopelessness to the God who is the definition of hope. Both Rob and Kari bring their trade and business skills to this ministry, helping to nurture, mentor, and train the young people in the Lakota community—in trade skills, life skills, and spiritual development. Kari is also involved in ministering to women in crisis. They also help to host the missions teams who return summer after summer, building and developing relationships among the Lakota people.
