Their Ministry Focus
Bobby and Jenny Mihsill continue to work alongside the Church of God in Côte d’Ivoire, teaching at IBAO (West Africa Bible Institute) and working with the national church to develop self-sustainability. They have also partnered with the church to implement and train leaders for the Children of Promise program. In May 2025, they stepped into the role of regional coordinators for Africa. The Mihsills are based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, in West Africa.
As regional coordinators for Africa, Bobby and Jenny travel throughout the region, working in collaboration with national leaders to develop regional ministry strategies and country-specific strategies, cultivating relationships within the Church of God across Africa, and helping connect the church across the region.
Their Story
Bobby and Jenny Mihsill arrived in Côte d’Ivoire in January 2015 after a year of language school in France. The Mihsills teach a variety of theological courses at IBAO, West Africa Bible Institute, and assist the national church in training leaders for the Children of Promise program. Bobby and Jenny led the launch of the Children of Promise program in Côte d’Ivoire in the summer of 2016. The Children of Promise has since grown to include four sites working to invest in children through the ministry of local congregations. One of their primary responsibilities today is working with the national church to develop self-sustainability.
Jenny was born in Seymour, Indiana, but was raised in Woodburn, Oregon, after her parents (Sam and Mary Dunbar) relocated to serve in ministry at Hoodview Church of God. The seed for missions was first planted in her heart at a youth session at Oregon State Camp Meeting. She has been on numerous mission trips and previously served as a special assignment missionary to Japan for Global Missions for three years.
Bobby was born and raised in Meghalaya, India, where his immediate and extended family has been part of the Church of God for many years. A powerful encounter at a youth camp at the age of eighteen led him to commit his life to Christ. After earning a bachelor’s degree in business and accounting, Bobby began working for a non-governmental organization teaching street children in Kolkata. It was there that he and Jenny met when she was working to complete her AUSOT internship in India. They completed their seminary degrees and were married in 2010. They are the parents of two young children.
