1—Burkina Faso: Pray for development projects for the nation and the church people of Burkina Faso, including the vocational training center project funded through Global Strategy so young people can be trained in sewing.
2—Paraguay: Pray for missionaries Norberto & Nancy Kurrle as they travel during October. Norberto will attend and preach at the Church of God convention in northern Peru during the first week of October. They will then travel to Guatemala to attend the missionary team retreat and serve as delegates during the InterAmerican convention. Pray for their marriage and family during this busy season and pray that the Lord would give them wisdom and the right words as they share in different contexts.
3—Bangladesh: Give thanks for the gathering of children at the Lalmonirhat Mission Station last month. Rev. Tapan Borman is the Bangladesh national chairman of Kids Movement. This is an ongoing gathering of children, many from some of the world’s major religions, where they are exposed to the gospel story and given hope in a future through kid’s clubs and children’s programs.
4—Hungary: Pray for Daniel, Christy & Sofie Kihm as they return to Budapest, Hungary, after a six-month home assignment. Pray for the ongoing health challenges of their family members in the U.S. and for the Kihms’ successful re-acclimation to life and ministry in the Europe and Middle East region.
5—Global: Pray for peace. Pray that peacemakers would emerge on the world stage. Pray for the hope and the work of peace, that people would have the courage and the strength to persevere. Pray that the people of God would reject violence and hatred as they follow the Prince of Peace.
6—Burundi: Ask God to open doors of finance to facilitate the expansion of God’s work in Burundi.
7—El Salvador: Pray for the church in El Salvador, as the owner of the building where the congregation gathers is selling the property. If the church needs to find a new place to meet, pray for the Lord to open doors, possibly even to purchase a new building.
8—Asia & Pacific: Pray for the Asia Pacific Conference taking place during the third week of October in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Leaders from around the world are gathering to foster a sense of Church of God community among the 180 delegates in attendance. Pray for the Church of God in Thailand as they host this event and celebrate fifty years of service. Pray for travel safety for all participants.
9—Bulgaria: Pray for the Agape Ministry in Bulgaria as students return to school and the ministry to university students resumes. The welcoming service for this year’s students is October 11. Pray for students to be protected spiritually as they encounter pressure to deny their faith and turn away from Jesus. Pray for Agape leaders as they seek to support these young people in their faith.
10—Global: Pray for the Church of God around the globe to be revitalized and refreshed by the Spirit of God. Pray for leaders who bear heavy loads and who are discouraged, that they will experience renewal of spirit and vision.
11—Congo (DRC): Praise God for the Church of God women in Congo (DRC), who organized an evangelism conference at the end of August in Buramo.
12—Latin America: The missionary team from Latin America will gather in Antigua, Guatemala, October 17-21, for a time of fellowship and retreat. Give thanks for Pastor Chris Spitters from St. Joseph, MI, who will provide teaching and soul care for the group.
13—Asia & Pacific: Praise God for the upcoming ordination of missionaries Tim & Jennifer Adams. Having completed Leadership Focus, the Adamses will be ordained as ministers in the Church of God. They have chosen to be ordained in Asia, with Rev. Monté Dillard, interim director of Church of God Ministries, and Rev. Andrew Gale, executive director of Global Strategy, in attendance, at the Asia Pacific Conference, alongside many regional church leaders.
14—Germany: Join the Church of God in Germany in praise for the many children and youth who attended Christian summer camps, experiencing fellowship with peers, hearing of God’s saving grace, and developing a desire for lifelong guidance and faithfulness. Praise God for this new generation of leaders and witnesses; pray that these established roots grow and bear fruit.
15—US & Canada: Pray that God would raise up men and women of wisdom and experience to minister through Global Strategy alongside the Church of God globally. Pray for hearts and minds to be open to the call of the Spirit.
16—Uganda: Pray for protection for the Church of God in Uganda from every form of evil, discouragement, division, temptation and spiritual attack.
17—Latin America: The InterAmerican convention will be held in Guatemala City, Guatemala, October 21-24. Pray for smooth travels for the approximately 200 participants from around the region; pray that the gathering will be a rich time of worship, fellowship, and teaching that unifies and strengthens the church in Latin America.
18—India: Pray for Rev. Johnson George Tharakan and his family as they lead the South India Church of God, an assembly of 200 churches based in Kochi, India, with a focus on planting new congregations in many unreached areas of South India. Keep Rev. Johnson and his wife, Lethamol, in your prayers as they navigate the realities of practicing Christianity in India.
19—E. Europe: Praise God that the children’s ministry has resumed after a summer break in one Eastern European congregation! After a long hiatus, the church has restarted its youth ministry and is planning to launch a new ministry for university students. Join this church in praying that God will provide encouragement, strength, and leaders for these important ministries.
20—Global: Pray that we, as followers of Christ, would learn to love with our whole being as God loves, a love that overflows as joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, a love that encompasses neighbor and enemy, near and far, at home and abroad.
21—Malawi: Pray for a young man named Ernest, injured in a bus accident while youth were on their way to a church youth conference. Thank the Lord that other injuries were mostly minor among the forty youth on the bus.
22—Belize: Give thanks for a children’s ministry that glorifies God. It is an edifying time, an enriching experience, and a Christian witness to families, neighbors, and communities in Belize.
23—Sri Lanka: Praise God for the second biennial Pastors Family Retreat (PFR) offered by the Church of God in Sri Lanka in August. The PFR is an opportunity to develop relationships between pastors’ families who are often isolated in their communities. The PFR hosted 30 pastors and their families, allowing young people and spouses to get to know each other. This important aspect of relational sustainability continues to create a stronger and healthier Church of God presence in a country that is one percent Christian.
24—Hungary: Join the Church of God in Hungary in praise for a recent baptism! Pray for this body of believers as they each strive for a deepened faith and walk with the Lord.
25—Global: Give deep thanks for the men and women that God has called to serve alongside the local church globally through Global Strategy. Pray for the wellbeing of their hearts and souls, minds and bodies, and for their children. Pray that God would fill them with wisdom and insight for the task.

27—France: Praise God for a recent young adult retreat in Paris! Young leaders who are connected through the regional Three Worlds Leadership Network (3WLN) planned the event, inviting a fellow 3WLN leader from Romania to join as this year’s speaker. Praise God for the connectivity and mutual encouragement of believers across the Europe and Middle East region.
28—Asia & Pacific: Pray for the pastors and workers throughout the Asia and Pacific Region who minister in areas openly hostile to the Word of the Lord. Pray for discernment, wisdom, and love as they reach out to those in need of the good news of Jesus Christ. Pray that governments in the region would be objective and fair in the laws they pass, ensuring that the vital work of these pastors and workers is not unjustly limited.
29—Haiti: Pray for Haiti. A strong storm recently caused significant damage to the roof and solar panels at the Church of God hospital in St. Ard. Diesel fuel for the hospital’s backup generators is extremely difficult to obtain due to the ongoing civil unrest and economic crisis in the country, leaving the hospital with limited and unreliable access to electricity.
30—Native American Ministries: Praise God for the faithful ministry of missionaries Tim & Kim Wardell among the Lakota people of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Pray that they might be encouraged and filled with wisdom of the Spirit to respond to the needs of the ministry.
