BOLIVIA RETREAT & CONVENTION CENTER
A multipurpose facility with a capacity of 1,500 that can be divided into 3 meeting spaces. It will include dormitories, kitchen, radio station, etc. This facility will serve the Church of God in Bolivia as a place for large reunions, youth camps, retreats, and other church related activities.
The Church of God in Bolivia has already given $132,000 toward the building of the facility. But there is still $125,000 needed to complete the project.
Project # 42.30048
The Church of God in Bolivia has a rich history of growth. With 275 churches and 18,000 believers, Bolivia has the most churches and believers of any country in Latin America within the Church of God. It is a church that has been self-sustaining and heavily engaged in evangelism.
Every two years the regional assembly for the Church of God in Latin America (called the Confraternidad Interamerica Iglesia de Dios or CIID) gathers Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking churches in order to equip and encourage them in their work within the region. In April 2017, churches from around the Americas will join one another in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
In order to accommodate the large number of attendees for the 2017 CIID conference, the congregations in the Cochabamba district of Bolivia decided to work together to build a large meeting facility. The facility not only helped with the CIID conference but, with the addition of dormitories and a kitchen, the space can be used in years to come for other large group events, such as youth camps and retreats.
The church in Bolivia has already given over $132,000 and will continue to support the project through financial giving and physical labor. Now we are looking for donors to come alongside the church in Bolivia as they work to finish the project!
The total requested amount from Global Strategy is $80,000.
The churches in Cochabamba district of Bolivia have given over $132,000 toward the building of the facility!
On a continual basis there are large meetings of people from Bolivia and the Latin American region that gather together for worship services and training events. None of the current church buildings can host crowds larger than 500. Therefore, most events that draw crowds larger than 500 are held outside, often times under tents. This facility will provide adequate space in a comfortable environment that will be far more conducive to learning. It will also provide a place to host youth and children’s camps, retreats, and other activities.
The plans for this building were first approved by the District Convention of Cochabamba in December 2012. Unfortunately, for many reasons, the project was put on hold until December 2015.
The leadership of the Church of God in Bolivia has made a commitment to make this building a priority. Churches in the Cochabamba district have been asked to give both financially and in labor, and every church has stepped up. Total finances and labor costs given thus far are at $132,000 and that will only continue to rise as the project progresses.
Phase I – COMPLETED!
Phase I was completed in March 2017
Phase II is to be completed by September 2019.
Phase II will include the construction of the additional spaces that form part of the main structure, including bathrooms on two levels, dormitories, kitchen, a radio station, and other spaces.
To complete phase two of the project, an estimated $80,000 will be needed.
Will you join Global Strategy in working with the church in Bolivia to complete this project?
