Burkina Faso Vocational Training Center
Summary
The Vocational Training Center is a church-based initiative designed to equip youth from the Church of God (Église Évangélique de Dieu) in Burkina Faso with practical sewing skills, spiritual formation, and pathways toward dignified employment. Beginning as a two-year pilot sewing center, the project will focus on training young people within the local church community while building a foundation for long-term sustainability, income generation, and expanded ministry impact. Through skill development, discipleship, and partnership, the center seeks to strengthen both church families and the wider community in Burkina Faso.
Cost
The total project cost is $8,400.

background
background
In Burkina Faso, many young people face limited access to vocational training and employment opportunities, and this is particularly true for many Church of God youth. In light of these realities, the National Leader of the Church of God in Burkina Faso, Brother Berime, identified sewing and tailoring as a practical trade that can provide both immediate skills and long-term income-generating opportunities. This project emerged through conversations with local church leadership, including a clear desire to start small, remain relationally accountable, and prioritize youth already connected to the life of the church. The sewing center will initially serve youth ages 13–15 from church families whose parents are known and engaged, allowing for close mentorship, follow-up, and holistic care.
STRATEGY
During the initial 24-month period, a local trainer will work closely with a small group of students, providing hands-on instruction in sewing, garment construction, and basic textile work. Through partnership with this project, the center will be outfitted with sewing machines, work tables, irons, and necessary materials to support learning.
As students progress, they may begin producing small items—such as bags or simple garments—that can be sold locally. Any income generated during this phase will be reinvested into the sustainability of the center. Alongside technical training, the program will intentionally incorporate discipleship, character formation, and Christian witness.

VISION
The vision of the Burkina Faso Sewing Center is to see young people equipped with practical skills, spiritual grounding, and hope for the future—all rooted in the life of the local church. After two years, the sewing center aspires to grow into a recognized sewing school operated by the Church of God in Burkina Faso.
By investing in youth, the church strengthens its witness, empowers families, and cultivates leaders who can contribute meaningfully to their communities. Ultimately, the vision is not only economic empowerment, but transformation that brings glory to God and lasting change to the entire community.
KINGDOM PARTNERSHIPS
This initiative is founded on strong partnership between the local church in Burkina Faso and global ministry partners through Church of God Global Strategy. The local church is contributing financially to the project and providing accountability, leadership, and long-term ownership.
Global partners come alongside through funding, prayer, encouragement, and shared discernment—supporting local leaders rather than directing the work. This collaboration ensures that the project remains culturally appropriate, spiritually grounded, and locally sustainable, with shared joy in both progress and outcomes.
FUTURE PLANS
Within two years, the sewing center hopes to become financially self-sufficient and recognized as a sewing school affiliated with the Church of God. Graduates of the program will be better positioned to pursue employment, start small tailoring ventures, or contribute their skills to church and community needs.
As the project matures, leaders hope to expand enrollment, strengthen income-generating activities, and celebrate graduations marked by certificates, thanksgiving to God, and gratitude to donors and partners. The sewing center is envisioned as a lasting resource—one that not only teaches a trade, but nurtures faith, dignity, and opportunity for generations to come.
“With God’s help, we will achieve great things.”
