In Their Own Words: The Tatmans Say Yes

By Nate and Stacy Tatman, Associate Regional Coordinators for Europe and the Middle East

Editor’s Note: Nate and Stacy are one of two missionary couples featured during Global Strategy’s 2019 impactX2 year-end campaign. Keep an eye out for more reflections from the Tatmans during this year-end campaign.

Saying “no” has never been the default option for our family. Granted, it hasn’t always been easy, but “yes” has seemed to come much more naturally. “Yes!” to serving in church ministry. “Yes!” to creating new ministries and developing small businesses. “Yes!” to returning to school to be better equipped for future yeses. “Yes!” to adopting the two youngest members of our family. “Yes!” has often been our answer.

When we were approached about making a transition for this next season of ministry, as much as our logical minds and Indiana-rooted hearts wanted to say no, we couldn’t. As we prayed and processed, we knew God was calling us to move forward into our next yes.

So where are we going? We are moving to Spain as missionaries for Global Strategy, the missions arm of Church of God Ministries. Surprised? So were we, until we began to see how God has been preparing us over the last few years.

What are we doing? In joining the Three Worlds team, Nate and Stacy will become the Global Strategy associate regional coordinators for Europe and the Middle East. Based out of Madrid, we will partner with new and existing churches in the areas of church health and multiplication throughout the region. This region has a heart for church-planting and we will be helping in the expansion of the new EuropeX network.

When are we leaving? We are planning on moving to Madrid in the summer of 2020. This will give our family plenty of time to prepare for such a big transition. Nate will remain on staff at County Line Church of God through the majority of the transition, and Stacy and our daughters Daleska and Emily will remain at the school through the 2019-2020 school year.
Who is going? For sure, Nate, Stacy, Aubry, Daleska, and Emily will be living abroad in 2020. Aubry, before she even knew about this transition, was making plans to attend St. Louis University in Madrid, Spain. (Only God!)

Kayla will be graduating from Anderson University in May 2020 and hasn’t yet decided whether she will start a master’s degree program in Indiana or in Madrid that fall, but we’re thankful her options will be open. Our son Dylan will remain in the Ft. Wayne area with his wife Sara.

Thank you, in advance, for your prayers and support. We will certainly need them as we flip to the next chapter of our story!
